I don't know how else to do this so everyday or so, I'll just add more pictures of Spain. The pictures here in this post are on our first day in Spain which we spent in Madrid. These aren't even half the pictures I took there. :)
This was our plan from Washington DC to Madrid.
There is quite a bit of Graffiti there. But the graffiti there is more artsy and meaningful. It isn't just tagging or marking who is where.
I dont even know what this building is, but it is cool. It has lots of random sentences on it in random languages.
Oreo Apartments!!!!!
There were A LOT of fountains and statues there.
My view from my first hotel. Hotel Mexico.
This is the side view of The Prado Museum. They have elaborate statues of important people in the front. You can kinda see them in this picture.
The police officers ride horses a lot. They were cool. :)
A church in Madrid.
El Prado Museo, The Prado Museum. It was really cool. The art pieces that people study, only see replicas in art history books, I was in arms reach of. Some of my favorite that I saw were Las Meninas by Velazquez:
La FamÃlia de Carlos IV (The
Family of Charles IV) by El Greco:
and The Nobleman with his Hand on his Chest by El Greco:
More statues outside of the museum.
There were lots of street performers in Spain.
EDWARD SCISSORHANDS!!! He was cute and kissed our hands when we gave him money.
A huge Spanish flag. Sorry for the yellow bar, it comes up a bit in Madrid. I was on a tour bus and it moved SUPER fast so some of them will just have a yellow stripe. I'll try not to post them. :)
This was a HUGE statue thing.
There is a reason for everything there. This tower had pictures on all 4 sides, each telling a story of the life of the guy on the very top. They put tons of details into everything.
To show you how much detail there is, this is just a random building in Spain. Nothing to special about it, probably just an apartment building, but they put so much detail in it. The snakes coiling up were cool.
More fountains :)
I hope you liked the first post of my many about Spain. SMILE :)
